AFL-CIO AV System

AFL-CIO, Washington, D.C.

Design and Installation

Challenge:

The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) is a voluntary federation of 56 national and international labor unions. The AFL-CIO union represents more than 10.5 million members, including teachers and truck drivers; musicians and miners; firefighters and farm workers, bakers and bottlers, engineers and editors, pilots and public employees.

The AFL-CIO hired our company to integrate state-of-the-art AV technology within several areas of their Washington, D.C. headquarters. For this installation, our teams worked within the constraints of an existing design, and still were able to ensure that the AFL-CIO's AV needs were met upon project completion. This project exemplified our ability to organize, design and implement outside of the luxury of involvement during the early planning stages. It is even more important at this later stage of development to bring in a company with the resources and expertise to effectively manage the procurement of the equipment and installation for a pre-existing design.

Solution:

The four-room project for AFL-CIO included equipping their auditorium, meeting rooms and a high-end boardroom with the latest projection and audio conferencing systems. The newly integrated AV system was tied together by a large matrix switcher. Our teams provided extensive programming to simplify the use of the AV equipment in the rooms. All equipment and lighting in the rooms are controlled through user friendly touch panel systems.

Equipment Highlights:

Touch panel system; LCD projector; audio conferencing systems; sound reinforcement; document camera; tabletop and wireless microphones; lighting controls; matrix switchers; floorboxes and rack panel with video
