APi Group, Inc., New Brighton, MN
Challenge:
APi Group, Inc. serves as a holding company for nearly 40 independently managed companies with more than 150 locations. Headquartered in New Brighton, Minn., APi focuses on servicing the industrial sector, including specialty construction, fire systems, fabrication and distribution. AVI-SPL was recently contracted to integrate APi world headquarters with cutting-edge technology that could improve communications and impress potential clients.
Solution:
The boardroom consists of a 165" diagonal HD 1080p rear projection screen at the presentation end of the room. A stereo audio line array is used for the reinforcement of speech, program sources, and a satellite HD television tuner to ensure even and full dispersement of all audio sources. Additionally, the podium is equipped with a DVD player and HD television tuner to serve as video sources.
Control and manageability of audio, video and lighting systems are easily met through the use of two wireless 8.5" interactive touch panels. Each touch panel includes an in-wall docking station for charging and storage of the respective panel. Upon activation of the touch panel, the room starts the necessary equipment. By simply exiting the touch panel system, any meeting participant can automatically power down all active AV devices.
With bench seating that allows for up to 46 participants, the expansive boardroom table is equipped with seven 46” HD 1080p LCD flat panel displays for image intelligibility to its prospective audience. The AV design offers optimum visibility for all members that are present. As an example, three of the seven flat panels are equipped with automated swing arms that can be positioned to maximize viewing angles. This design allows participants to easily control monitoring capabilities throughout any presentation.
Each seating space has its own audio reinforcement speaker system. In addition to the line array speakers, two of the boardroom seats are equipped with microphones and local audio reinforcement speakers. Microphones are equipped with easily accessible mute switches and LED status lights. This customized audio support technology allows the leading presenter to override all active mics in order to maintain control. Sound systems are enhanced by local speakers, effectively providing audio reinforcement of the other microphones in the room, as well as program source audio.
