Moffitt Cancer Center Auditorium
H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center + Research Institute, Tampa, FL
Challenge:
The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer & Research Institute at the University of South Florida was in need of interconnected presentation rooms in order to better support communications. The project entailed connecting a new building and systems with two existing buildings on campus. The AV install consists of 10 rooms spread throughout the research tower and the research building and required a unique solution for master control with limited personnel.
Solution:
A centralized hub was incorporated for the in-house AV staff. Two additional control rooms, strategically placed within the facility, support the large auditorium and two large reconfigurable multi-purpose conferencing spaces. Each of the rooms is fully outfitted for local presentation and videoconferencing. The same cameras used for monitoring the room are also utilized for the videoconferencing system, and the large conference rooms include touch panel control systems in the presenter's lectern and additional wireless control panels recessed into the walls. Finally, the RF distribution system allows signals to be transmitted between the old and new buildings.
Equipment Highlights:
UXGA projector; control system; 15" lectern monitor; fiber optic transmitter; ceiling speakers; sound repeater; document camera; amplifier
