Indian River County Commission Chambers

Challenge:

The newly built Indian River County (IRC) Commission Chambers, located within the two-story County Admission Complex, was in need of a technology upgrade. The leadership of IRC tasked our company with the opportunity to develop a state-of-the-art AV system for this 2,800 square foot facility. Key factors with this installation would center on equipment that could provide increased interactivity between the commissioners and the audience, greater broadcast and audio quality and flexibility during presentations, and a better level of control throughout the system.

Solution:

The IRC Commission Chambers and adjacent conference rooms were equipped with custom tailored, high-quality technology. The upgraded Commission Chambers now included a presentation system with two Sharp 65" LCD displays, as well as 15-17" NEC LCD monitors for the dais. Enhancements were also made with the installation of a ceiling-mounted document camera, digital recording system, and wireless microphones.

The Commission Chamber's audio system was improved by the installation of gooseneck microphones, wireless lavalier microphones, an assisted listening system, closed caption decoders and a ceiling-mounted speaker. The use of digital signal processors also allowed for greater flexibility with the audio while providing consistent quality. Additionally, the broadcast system was improved with the installation several state-of-the-art features, including: a high-resolution digital camera; DVD recorder 8-input production switcher; LCD monitors; and a multi-hybrid remote control panel.
