City of DeLand Commission Chambers AV System
City of DeLand, DeLand, FL
Challenge:
When the City of DeLand constructed a 47,000 square foot City Hall to meet the needs of its rapidly growing Floridian community, they contracted our company to integrate state-of-the-art technology within its commission chambers. In planning the AV system integration, our goal was to provide enhanced communication technology for each council member and local guest presenters. A primary theme was that of high-tech integration, combined with user-friendly functionality.
Solution:
The AV system of the 12 council member workstations are completely revised from the previous traditional design, and now engineered to allow for improved interaction between officials and presenters during each meeting.
For this project, our teams installed two 60" x 80" overhead projectors from Custom Display Solutions, which were integrated above the dais of the commission chambers. Each council member station with a personalized 17" NEC LCD flat screen monitor, offering each official the ability to view plans, PowerPoint presentations and live, streaming video. Each dais is equipped with custom audio reinforcements, low intensity gooseneck lights with dimmers, gooseneck microphones and JBL speakers. The public is also able to view the same content as the council members due to the installation of two custom 100" diagonal rear projection screens recessed into the wall above the dais.
A user-friendly environment was created through the integration of a primary Crestron system, working in conjunction with a BiAmp Audiaflex system. This technology performs seamlessly, allowing the city clerk the ability to control every aspect of the AV system within the Chambers. A secondary Crestron control system at the guest lectern enables each presenter to adeptly discuss and exhibit community issues to the city council. To support presentations, a ceiling-mounted, high-resolution document camera, digital recording system and wireless microphones were included. Our company also equipped each of the three conference rooms with 77" SMART interactive whiteboards, LCD Mitsubishi projectors and audio reinforcement by Extron and Atlas Sound. The versatility of this technology allows for a wide-range of use during other government functions.

Rear projection screens; LCD monitors; integrated control system processor and wireless touch panels; digital document camera; matrix system switcher; gooseneck microphones; low-intensity gooseneck mounted lamp with dimmer wireless microphones; audio digital signal processors; DVD/VCR
